Interdisciplinary Training
Community Scholars
Community Scholars is an approved On-the-Job Training (OJT) program for youth receiving Vocational Rehabilitation Services. OJT participants are identified as Trainees of FCIC and receive customized job training, mentoring, self-advocacy and disability policy training, and college advising. Trainees also join AUCD's Emerging Leaders Community, an online community in which participants can "connect with others, get involved, and grow as leaders, with the ultimate goal of positively impacting the lives of people with disabilities and their families." All participants are mentored by FCIC staff and are encouraged to consider post-secondary education as a real, next-step possibility after completion of their OJT experience.
